*Special Thank you to Tammy N Shauny and LaToya Jones and the Syracuse NAACP chapter for the consideration recognition of Psalt-e on your page. God Bless you all! ******************************************************* “Psalt-E” is a singer/songwriter/Worship Leader and Rapper who was born in Fort Hood Texas. Her family relocated to Rochester, NY at 5yrs old In 2002 her family relocated to Syracuse NY where she currently resides. The name Psalt-E (pronounced “salty”) includes deep spiritual influence coming from the scripture Matthew 5:13 which talks about being the salt of the earth. Psalt-e the artist celebrates her "psaltiness" as paying homage to God for preserving such a unique flavor that she almost gave away trying to fit into conformity with the standards of this world. Psalt-E found her true flavor and spends every day as a living testimony living this truth as transparently as possible. Psalt-E's musical background spans over a wide range of genres from classical and jazz to Christian, pop, and r&b. She has studied with Patricia Alexander (mother of world-renowned opera singer Renee Fleming) at the Eastman school of music and has also been involved with several local ministries and music groups throughout the Syracuse area. Her ability to sing in many different genres proves Psalt-E to be a well-balanced vocalist with a deep love for music. Her sound can be described as "real-life music with a God message" Whether churched, de-churched, or unchurched, saved, or unsaved, Psalt-E's music offers her spin on life's situations and personal experiences and offers genuine understanding as well as encouragement from the person that may be dealing with the same issues to the person who is in a good place in life while pushing the message of embracing and loving the person you are. (Your psalt-e imprint) In October of 2016 Psalt-E released her very first single "Don't Count me Out" #DCMO, a fun anthem that reminds people not to "count out" the good work that God has begun and promises to complete in us. In 2019 she released her 1st EP titled "The Psalt-EP. In 2019 Psalt-E became the first African American Holy Hip Hop artist to represent the Syracuse NY chapter in the GMWA National Convention. Psalt-E is also currently a two-time nominee for the Gospel Choice Music Awards as well as a first-time nominee in 2021 for the Gospel Hip Hop Awards and Prayze Factor awards in several categories. Psalt-E hopes to inspire the world with her music and convey the beauty in loving yourself just the way you were created to be while knowing there is someone that will love you unconditionally no matter how imperfect you are. “Be you, ‘cause if you aren’t, who will be?” ... 3/13/2020... while the world was preparing for pandemonium pandemic style...I was preparing for a DIFFERENT fight....Shingles I remember the exact moment when it was activated in my body. It felt like getting a flu shot. All I remember was my arm being really hot and the next day soreness followed by sores in a line all up the side of my body and back. (In a trail) and being EXTREMELY exhausted. That Monday when the world was shut down I was officially diagnosed. That was the WORST 8-10 weeks I had ever experienced! It's ONLY the lord that got me thru that ordeal. How weird to be my age getting shingles...i had only heard it to be something that strikes in older adults so why now? Simple answer: STRESS! Yes I remember being so unhappy deep down and focused on the craziest stuff. Stuff people had done to me that was DEAD WRONG, Stuff I couldn't control, stuff that I could control and did nothing about and even STUFF THAT HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH ME! Just being full of negativity AND juggling a brand new job that I had to learn from scratch! My mind was a playfield, battlefield AND battleground all at once. Although it was some of the worst pain, God's sovereignty turned it into a time of reset. As many of my bed filled days were spent letting God love on me and re-shift my focus! Forgiving and letting it GOOOOO! I even wrote a song in that valley period called "Mountain Tops" ⛰ I am so grateful to have been healed from shingles with out any nerve damage. A year later I am alive, healed movin, shakin and full of the Lord's joy and he gets the glory! (And learning to do my own make-up ☺) Thank you Lord for being #myeverything! #conqueror ... See more
